Un! Duo!

Jeroen Van Herzeele plays tenor saxophone. After attending a secondary school where he specialized in music Jeroen took jazz lessons at the Antwerp Jazz Studio, with Dave Pike, Peter Hertmans and John Ruocco. He also attended workshops with Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Steve Grossman, Bill Pierce. In 1999, he received the Belgian Django d'Or, awarded every year to an outstanding young jazz musician. Jeroen teaches at the conservatory in Brussels.

Jeroen Van Herzeele plays (and has played) in numerous groups : Chris Joris Experience,Ben Sluijs 4-tet, Olivier Tomas and Co, Wissels – Linx Quartet, Philip Catherine, Hommage to Jaco Pastorius (Michel Hatzigeorgiou), David Pike, Octurn, Quartet,Ode For Joe, Variations on a love Supreme, Alice’s 5 Moons, Today’s Special, Kris Defoort’s Dreamtime, Maâk’s Spirit, and his own groups Greetings From Mercury and Quartet, and Jeroen Van Herzeele/Giovanni Barcella Duo.Jeroen is persistently searching in music,looking for the extreme without any limitations. His music is etheric, sensible and powerful.

Le nombre des project avec lequelle il est lié est  impossible a definir, en passant du drumspoetry, free, electronica, mainstream associé souvant avec les plus grand noms europeens, , teatre esperimental, son style reste la passion autentique pour le recherche et pour l'amour pour la rivolution.  .................................
giovanni barcella studia al CDPM con Giampiero Prina. Dal 1999 vive in
Belgio dove lavora a livello nazionale e internazionale, con differenti
formazioni, con tournée in Olanda, Portogallo, Germania, Francia...
Convinto della necessità di una visione poetica sulla batteria, é
invitato come curatore, con il suo progetto Ciclic-Records, label non
commerciale di ricerca e musica sperimentale, ( giovanni barcella e eli
van de vondel ) in vari festival. Invitato a Mozartjaar Vienna 2005,
Bluenotefestival 2006/08, Clusone Jazz, Jazz Middelheim, Buda festival 2006, Happy New Ears 2007, Lille, Jazzlabseries... dove suona con Bobby Few, Jean Jacques Avenel,
Reggie Washington, Manolo Cabras, Irene Aebi, Moker, Backback, Jeroen
van Herzeele-Giovanni Barcella duo, Jeroen van Herzeele 4tet, Les Poubelles, Dick van der Harst,
Ben Sluijs, Pierre Bernard,Paola Bartoletti...membro della giuria del festival Gent Jazz dal 2005, attivo in ambito
teatrale, ( Silence Fini, Virgula...) dove sperimenta con musicisti della interessantissima scena
belga, con progetti di sperimentazione tra parola e musica elettronica.
